Shopping in St Maarten

We enjoyed an expensive day off in St Maarten yesterday with a wander around the shops for a new pair of sunglasses for Kate turning into a major camera buying session! Colin has bought a new top of the range Canon camera after getting a deal we couldn't refuse, or thats what we're telling ourselves anyway!

Today we went to the Sunset Bar to watch the planes land and to try out our new toy.
On Saturday morning we are due to leave St Maarten and head back down to Antigua to get some more work done on the boat before our next Charter in mid February.

Second Charter
We are now in St Maarten after completing our 2nd Charter which was with 5 other boats and a total of 52 guests for 6 days. We started in English Harbour, Antigua and then after a photo shoot with the other sailing yachts we cruised around to Five Islands Bay on the west coast of Antigua, before sailing onto Nevis, St Barts and finally St Maarten. The charter was very well organised and was good fun, with several water balloon fights! We enjoyed some great days sailing in close company with the other yachts.

Antigua....A Walk Down Memory Lane!

We arrived in Antigua at 8am on Sunday after a good trip up from Grenada. After cleaning the boat and doing a few jobs we were able to finish work at lunchtime on Sunday. As it is our first time back in Antigua since we met here four years ago we have been enjoying a walk down memory lane! We joined the crew in a trip upto Shirley Heights for sunset and the famous Rum Punch, before heading down to enjoy a pizza at the same restaurant we had our first date! Antigua has changed but a lot is still the same and quite a few people remember us. Both Tivoli (the boat Colin was on when we met) and Moonraker are also here.

Our time on Mirabella3 was due to end next week but we were firstly asked to stay and help with the 2nd Charter, which we agreed to do, and now we have now been asked to stay on for the rest of the Caribbean season! There are another three charters between now and mid March, plus a trip with the Owners, so we will be kept pretty busy. We are likely to be onboard until early April.

Time Off in Grenada

After dropping off our guests on Tuesday afternoon we have been enjoying the last two days off catching up on some sleep and relaxation. We went off to a quiet hotel yesterday afternoon, further down the south coast. It was great to get away from everything and enjoy some time to ourselves after living with 15 other people for the last 10 days! We came back to the boat later this afternoon and went Wakeboarding for an hour or so. Well, Colin went Wakeboarding whilst Kate just got towed underwater behind the tender!

We are due to refuel tomorrow afternoon and then leave early on Saturday morning to head upto Antigua where we will be for 10 days before picking up the second charter.

Christmas & New Year Charter

We are now in Grenada after finishing a 10 day charter with ten Americans.

We started in St Lucia, anchored off the Pitons, and sailed everyday, stopping in St Vincent, Bequia, Canouan, Mustique, Mayreau, Tobago Cays, Petit St Vincent, Union Island, Carriacou before dropping the guests off in Secret Harbour on the South Coast of Grenada. As we were kept pretty busy Christmas and New Year passed us by. We did have some great days sailing though, reaching 17kts one day!!
